Web Developer at Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service will be responsible for a) the overall design, maintenance, and functionality of the School's website and ad hoc programming projects, b) serving as a liaison with NYU's Information Technology Service's web server division, outside vendors and service providers, c) maintaining and developing custom applications in the Salesforce.com platform, d) researching, testing, and recommending new web technology, web applications and electronic technology, and e) managing student developers. Good communication skills and strong motivation are a must.


All work will be performed at our office in the Nolita/Soho area of Manhattan.



* Education:

- Required: Bachelor's degree in computer science

- Preferred: Masters of Science degree in computer science or related discipline



* Required Experience:

- Minimum of 3 years experience programming complex websites, maintaining a website's access and security, and creating/modifying scripts or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- This position requires a solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues and code solutions. The candidate must demonstrate a proven ability to monitor and analyze website problems, and also display excellent organizational, planning, verbal and written communication skills.



* Required - Advanced Knowledge/Skills in:

- PHP

- jQuery

- Javascript/AJAX

- MySQL

- HTML

- XHTML

- CSS

- Google Maps

- Linux

- Some experience with Java

- Adobe Photoshop



* Preferred Experience:

-The preferred candidate will have 5 plus years of experience in programming, website maintenance and development.

-Managerial experience is also preferred.



* Preferred Knowledge & Skills:

- Mobile website development experience

- Experience developing applications in Apex and Visualforce for the Salesforce.com platform

- Facebook APIs

- Adobe Illustrator

- Experience with Flash video players (JW Player)
